Creative Director (Jan 2017—May 2018)
Catastropieces is a 3D point-and-click puzzle game in which you build Rube Goldberg-esque machines in order to create art. It’s currently being developed as part of our Advanced Game Project class at the University of Southern California for the 2017-18 school year. In order to be accepted into the class, our game pitch and prototype had to pass through two rounds of judging by faculty and come out in the top 25% of the 21 pitched titles.
As the creative director, my main job was to preserve the original vision and direction of the game within our ~20-person team, but I also found myself assisting both our design and production departments at times. I had to learn how to navigate the various social dynamics within our team and uphold morale through our development ups and downs. From recruiting team members to navigating copyright issues with a lawyer, I got my hands in practically every part of the game development process.
